Dear Families,
I want to share an important update regarding fidgets at school.
Due to ongoing classroom disruptions, students should no longer bring fidgets from home. Recently, many of these items have been used more as toys than as tools to support focus and regulation. We have also had concerns with fidgets being broken and creating large messes, as well as fidgets being traded, misplaced, or taken by other students.
Our goal is to keep classrooms focused, safe, and ready for learning. For that reason, personal fidgets brought from home will no longer be allowed at school.
Students who have the use of a fidget specifically identified as an accommodation in a 504 Plan or IEP will continue to be allowed to use one, as long as it is being used appropriately and for its intended purpose.
