Is it bullying?
Part 2
April 15, 2025
Hello, Families.
We are aware of ongoing social media discussions regarding reports of bullying at our school and claims that no action is being taken. We want to assure you that our staff and administration are fully committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all students. We take bullying seriously and are actively addressing incidents in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, ensuring that appropriate consequences are enforced. However, we cannot address issues we are unaware of. If you or your student witness bullying, we urge you to speak up. Your voice is essential in helping us maintain a safe and respectful school community. Together, we can put an end to bullying.
At Hudson Park Elementary, we believe that creating a safe and supportive environment for all of our students begins with the values we instill at home. Bullying is a serious issue that can impact a child’s emotional and social development, and it’s important to recognize that the foundations for positive behavior start in the family. As parents and guardians, you play a critical role in shaping your student’s attitudes and actions. By modeling kindness, respect, and empathy in your own interactions, you set an example that children can follow. Discussing the importance of treating others with respect, teaching conflict resolution skills, and encouraging open conversations about feelings can help prevent bullying behaviors before they begin.
We ask for your continued partnership in reinforcing these messages at home and supporting our efforts to build a school culture where every child feels safe, valued, and respected. Together, we can work to stop bullying before it starts and create an environment where kindness thrives. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a positive community for all students.
Educationally yours,
Megan Keplinger Ken Howell
